Mosaic & Certeon Partner to Deliver WAN Optimization Solutions to Virtualized Data Centers to enable high performance, cost-effective solutions for disaster recovery

Certeon, the leading provider of virtualized WAN optimization and application acceleration, today announced that Mosaic Technology, a leader in delivering complete data center solutions, is partnering with Certeon to provide virtualized WAN optimization solutions for storage and disaster recovery environments. Mosaic will resell Certeon’s aCelera virtual appliances to improve the performance and reduce the cost of its customers’ backup and recovery operations.

Mosaic Technology is a leader in data center optimization, including virtualization, Dell storage solutions, disaster recovery, high availability (HA), VMware Site Recovery Manager™ and virtual desktop deployments. Mosaic is a Dell Certified Enterprise Solutions Partner and a VMware Enterprise Certified Partner, with core expertise in VMware’s Site Recovery Manager.

Certeon was the first vendor to introduce a truly virtualized WAN optimization and application acceleration solution, aCelera virtual appliance software, for reducing remote application response time, increasing scalability and lowering IT costs. With the addition of aCelera Sync software, Certeon delivers the industry’s first virtual appliance to dramatically reduce data backup and recovery time and lower network bandwidth requirements for the business continuity market. Certeon’s aCelera Sync enables IT managers to consolidate the management of their remote
business continuity environments and eliminate the costs and risks of off-site tape transport and storage. Certeon is a certified VMware Technology Alliance Partner and a Dell Technology Partner.

In optimizing data center business continuity environments, Mosaic recognized the need for a virtualized WAN optimization solution, such as Certeon’s aCelera Sync, to maximize data replication between multiple remote Dell EqualLogic iSCSI SANs. Many of Mosaic’s customers were using Dell SANs for compliance and disaster recovery when backing up Microsoft Exchange e-mail and Oracle-based financial databases. aCelera Sync enables those customers to more frequently backup and replicate mission critical data without the cost associated with purchasing additional network bandwidth.

Mosaic also determined that by using a virtual application accelerator with high availability, it could provide its strategic customers with increased performance and continuous data protection and replication within their virtualized environments. aCelera Sync enables continuous backup and replication of data because there are not delays or queuing. Also, as virtual appliance, aCelera Sync works in conjunction with a hypervisor’s provisioning and HA capabilities and is easier to deploy on HA systems in remote replication sites.

“Certeon’s aCelera Sync is an architecturally perfect match for our virtualization and WAN optimization services,” said Art Demirjian, VP sales and marketing, Mosaic. “As one of the region’s largest Dell EqualLogic and VMware solution providers, we see aCelera Sync enabling us to improve our customers’ data center initiatives and user experience and to maximize their initial storage investments.”

Recent customer results after using aCelera Sync demonstrated an immediate two to five times decrease in backup and replication times without an increase in bandwidth. Certeon’s solution has also been reported by customers to be three to four times less expensive than competitive hardware appliances.

Business continuity processes such as data backup and replication can be significantly slowed over a WAN. Low bandwidth, high latency, contention and packet loss can result in longer backup windows and the need to buy more and more bandwidth to support growing amounts of backup data. Certeon’s aCelera Sync is specifically designed to remove these network issues and enable enterprises to quickly and efficiently achieve RTO and RPO goals. It reduces the amount of traffic going over the WAN, delaying the need for additional bandwidth upgrades and associated costs.

Nondisruptive, aCelera Sync allows backup and replication as often as needed.

“Enterprises deploying virtualization to optimize their data centers need to also consider virtualized WAN optimization to leverage their investment in mission-critical environments such as data protection and replication,” stated Peter Dougherty, CEO and president, Certeon. “Our aCelera Sync WAN acceleration solution along with Mosaic’s data center optimization services enables enterprises to maximize their investments and realize a quicker ROI.”

About Certeon

Certeon is the leader in virtualized WAN optimization. Certeon’s aCelera software is the first WAN optimization and application acceleration virtual appliance to deliver acceleration, scalability and manageability. It reduces application response time over the WAN and lowers network bandwidth requirements up to 95 percent without proprietary hardware appliances. The aCelera family of software-based solutions includes aCelera virtual appliance and aCelera Client for optimized desktop-to-data-center performance and aCelera Sync for efficient business continuity over the WAN. As more resources (i.e., CPU, memory and disk) are added, aCelera performance scales
linearly and supports up to 50 percent more concurrent accelerated connections than do “closed” proprietary hardware appliances. Enterprises and managed service providers can save as much as 60 percent in total cost of ownership when deploying aCelera software to virtualized data centers, cloud environments or remote offices.

Global business initiative lets asset managers recover IT investments for surplus hardware

Salem NH, June 1, 2009, http://www.mosaictec.com[Mosaic Technology] of Salem NH launched a new Asset Cost Recovery Program that lets asset managers get the best return on their surplus data and communication products. The Asset Cost Recovery program is a comprehensive six-point plan. Equipment is initially assessed and a price range established. The market is evaluated and the most effective sales channel selected. The assets are removed to secure storage and technically assessed by engineers. The equipment is refurbished electronically and cosmetically, as appropriate. Asset lots are created and sold worldwide through multiple channels. If items do not sell, they are disposed of at no cost to the owner.

“We have a good process for those who want to maximize their return on surplus assets,” said Tom Desmet, Mosaic president and CEO. “Our value is based on two aspects of our business; first is Mosaic’s strength and ability to sell used IT equipment worldwide – that means we always have demand for product, which translates into increased value for our customers.”

“The second aspect is that a substantial portion of Mosaic’s sales are to end-users. This means that our cost recovery clients receive a return far greater than with traditional brokers or B2B exchanges.”

Newly appointed Director of Business Development, Greg King is spearheading the asset management effort for Mosaic. He is opening new channels worldwide with manufacturers and distributors to help them recover investments from their IT and telecommunications product over-runs, line pulls, returns, stock rotations, and mothballed computing or switching networks.

“Our customers tell us that because Mosaic can play many roles in the investment recovery process, we’re of considerable benefit to their bottom line,” King said. “We’re not in business to replace an owner’s existing vendor, but rather to be their alternate solution provider.”

“Mosaic is revolutionizing the idea of Asset Management for computer and telecommunication hardware,” King explained, “It’s a very exciting program model. Companies have made large outlays in IT equipment that is outdated very quickly. Investors want to see their companies get the highest return possible on those aging assets,” King concluded.

The Mosaic Asset Cost Recovery program offers a range of financial services including financing of purchases, equipment leasing packages, purchase/leaseback plans, depreciation analysis and valuation trending.

Gift will help rehabilitate 1867 depot building

Salem NH, March 24, 2009 – The Depot Revitalization Committee and the Historic District Commission of Salem NH announced that Mosaic Technology of Salem NH has donated $10,000 to the Depot Station Project. The donation will contribute to the continued rehabilitation of the 142 year-old depot building. The donation was presented by Tom Desmet, Mosaic’s President and CEO at the recent Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Meeting, held at Mosaic’s corporate headquarters March 18th 2009.

“We would like to thank Mosaic and especially Tom Desmet for his generous contribution,” said Donna Velt, Senior Branch Manager of Pentucket Bank and Coordinator of fundraising. “It’s a good example of the business community’s commitment and active participation in growth activities in Salem.”

“I’ve been a lifelong resident of Salem,” said Tom Desmet. I’ve had an active business here for over 25 years. From a business perspective this is a project that can have a positive impact of the future of Salem and the people who live and work here. We are happy to be a position where we can make this kind of a contribution.”

The Depot Station project is a three‐phase revitalization program. Structural and building envelope improvements are near completion; and building finish work , fixtures, tenant fit‐up and completion are scheduled over spring. The Town has provided the building, the property, and $65,000 toward a successful hazardous materials removal and partial historically inappropriate addition demolition. The Historic Commission, through the Depot Station Committee has raised sufficient funds to make structural and building envelope improvements, which are nearing completion. This donation will be earmarked towards completing the finishing touches, those improvements that make all the difference.

The Salem Historic District Commission, in planning rehabilitation of the depot building, intends to restore an integral corner stone in the Town’s past. The rehabbed depot represents the beginning of commercial activity centered on the Depot intersection. As work proceeds on planning for the intersection, a rail trail, and the land use in the area, the Depot Station will stand as a symbol of a renewed commercial future.

The Depot Project is the center of a transportation and economic development redevelopment plan. The Town is establishing: redevelopment zoning in the Route 28/97 intersection, physical traffic improvements, the creation of a fixed route transit system for the region, and the development of a pedestrian corridor. The Depot area represents the epicenter of 6 million square feet of retail employing over 8,000. The Depot station presents an opportunity to provide facilities that link transit and pedestrian systems to provide transportation options.

Mosaic Technology, Inc. of Salem, NH, partnering to sell l ExaGrid Systems of Westborough MA (ExaGrid) disk based backup solution. The partnership will be formally launched with an end-user focused lunch and learn at Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Boston.

Salem, NH (PRWEB) February 1, 2008 — Mosaic Technology, Inc.(Mosaic), headquartered in Salem, NH, announced an agreement to resell ExaGrid Systems of Westborough MA (ExaGrid) disk based backup solution. The partnership will be formally launched with an end-user focused lunch and learn at Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Boston.

ExaGrid systems are cost effective, scalable disk based backup solutions that work with existing backup software applications. ExaGrid combines high quality SATA drives, compression, and byte-level data de-duplication for fast and reliable backups and restores.

ExaGrid uses standard data compression for the most recent backups and byte-level data de-duplication for all previous backups which minimizes disk space for backups. ExaGrid’s byte-level data de-duplication technology stores changes from backup to backup instead of storing full file copies. This unique approach reduces disk space requirements by at least 20 to 1, delivering substantial cost savings and performance at 30% the cost of standard SATA storage.

“ExaGrid is a good partner choice for us. We’re familiar with deduplication technology and believe their approach is solid. In a very short period we’ve sold a couple of units and built a decent pipeline of activity.” said Tom Desmet, Mosaic President and CEO. “We understand the technology and where it fits. Their products complement our data protection and data management focus and fill a need our customers are feeling.”

Mosaic and ExaGrid will be launching their partnership with a series of seminars in February, March and April.

Salem NH , Mosaic Technology of Salem NH has named Art Demirjian as vice president of direct sales in North America. Mr. Demirjian will assume responsibility for all direct sales activity in Mosaic’s Salem NH and Bellevue WA offices.

Prior to joining Mosaic Demirjian was most recently a Regional Director for Edge Dynamics, a software company. Demirjian, has held senior sales and sales management positions in a variety of companies including EMC, Candle Corporation, and ISS Group.

“Art brings a combination of experience, enthusiasm, and drive that makes him an ideal person to take our direct sales unit to the next level,” said Tom Desmet, Mosaic president and CEO.

“Art understands how to sell and, more importantly, how to manage a sales organization. I expect him to have an immediate and long-lasting impact on our company.”

“I believe the opportunity here is enormous,” said Demirjain. “The products and support structure at Mosaic are excellent. The storage, backup, and security market is robust. And we have just begun to scratch the surface of the used and refurbished Sun market.”

Data Management Software Logical Addition to Mosaic Backup/Recovery/Archiving capability

Salem, NH (PRWEB) April 30, 2007. Mosaic Technology, headquartered in Salem, NH, announced an agreement to resell CommVault’s Singular Information Management™ software suite. This agreement expands Mosaic’s data management, backup, recovery, and archiving offerings in the Enterprise and SMB markets.

CommVault’s Information Management Suite is built on a single-platform architecture. Using a single code and function set CommVault offers market leading Data Protection, Archiving, Replication, and Resource Management solutions. By providing a unified, simple way to manage data and storage wherever it resides, CommVault solutions have gained widespread acceptance in IT departments around the world.

“CommVault is an ideal partner for us,” said Don Basler, Director or Marketing at Mosaic. “Their products work well with our hardware partners such as Data Domain, EqualLogic and HDS. The beauty of CommVault’s product is that our customers can invest in a single component of the suite — backup for example – to address a specific immediate requirement and add other parts as needed. It makes tremendous sense from a strategic and budgetary perspective.”

Mosaic and CommVault will be launching their partnership with a series of webinars in May and June.

Mosaic Technology Acquires and Moves into New Salem, NH Facility
Salem NH. January 26, 2006.

Mosaic Technology, headquartered in Salem, NH, announced completion of a move into new offices at 41 Northwestern Drive in Salem. The move and the purchase of the 14-acre campus with its 52,000 square ft. headquarters building signals continued growth of the 12-year old company.

Mosaic’s business requires substantial on-hand inventory of new and reconditioned computer components such as servers, storage arrays and memory. The new facility provides substantial room for inventory growth.

“I made this investment to meet the demands of our growing business,” said Tom Desmet, CEO and founder of Mosaic. “We were getting pretty crowded in our old building. This new space allows Mosaic to grow with improved capabilities – larger lab and testing facilities, expanding our sales force, hosting seminars and small conferences. Plus the state-of-the-art shipping and warehousing facility lets us be more responsive to customers’ last minute shipping requests.”
