Mailbox Management
With Mimosa NearPoint, you can reduce the overall size of Exchange storage by up to 90% and at the same tine give users infinite mailbox capacity while maintaining mailbox quotas on Exchange Server.
Mailbox Extension – a standard feature of NearPoint – automatically extends mailboxes on Exchange Server to the NearPoint Server. You define policies for how messages are migrated using parameters such as message size, age, and mailbox size watermarks. These policies allow Mimosa to replace messages within those established criteria with a stub file that points to the copy of the message residing on the NearPoint server.
This is all transparent to end users. Messages appear in user folders as normal messages but with a new icon. Users have complete access to migrated messages. They double-click on an extended message header to view the message. Operations such as forward, delete, reply, and move perform as they would with local message copies. Mimosa provides transparent access to migrated messages, while allowing you to control storage growth on production Exchange Servers.
PST Management
The number of files and the amount of data they contain make managing PST data a challenge. Located on local desktops and network file servers they are inherently difficult to access and manage. The majority of desktops are not protected — which elevates the risk of losing valuable PST stored business information.
Mimosa NearPoint PST Archiving Option is an add-on option for Mimosa NearPoint that uploads .PST files directly into the NearPoint archive. The archive is transparently accessible to end users. Uploading is user controlled and accessible with NearPoint Self-Service AccessT in Outlook and the NearPoint Administrative Console.
Once files are loaded into the NearPoint archive, you manage all message data by existing retention and disposition policies. They are accessible for quick and easy searches by those you authorize such as auditors for legal discovery.
