“If it’s not broken don’t fix it” best describes many people’s attitude about backup software. It runs. I get my backups done. I’ve got my systems in place. I’m all set.

The realty is that all too often we adapt our behaviors to our software – not the other way around — such as spending all weekend backing up. Or not testing restore capability on a regular basis. Or not archiving consistently, etc.

It’s all fine until the unthinkable happens – you need to restore something and you can’t.

There are viable alternatives available.
