At the hardware level, AMD Rapid Virtualization Indexing utilizes Nested Page Table technology that allows virtual machines to directly manage memory. Utilizing on-die silicon resources, Rapid Virtualization Indexing helps reduce hypervisor cycles and the associated performance penalty that is commonly associated with virtualization.
