Every now and then we come across a well written white paper that – even though it’s sponsored by a vendor – presents a compelling argument.
That’s the case with “Extending D2D to Offsite DR: The ROI Case for Wan Vaulting.”
Written by Barb Goldworm of Focus Consulting for Data Domain, it uses case studies to show the benefits of deduplication and D2D backup and how it can be extended to deliver cost effective offsite data protection and DR.
This is a well thought out and well written effort. It shows how to build a case for WAN vaulting using direct and indirect savings, TCO, ROI and payback periods. However, this is not a detailed math and formula guide – it uses real world examples with appropriate tables and graphs.
“Extending D2D…” offers substance and readability.
